7 Golden Rules In Managing Boys Acne Problems

The general perception is that acne is only a problem for girls and boys are not to worry about it. It is certainly not true, boys are equally affected by acne as much as girls do. They are also fighting to cope with the emotional and physical problems caused by acne.

Puberty are the times when most boys starts to see acne rear their ugly heads. Usually these are accepted as part of growing up and they are controllable. Healthy and proper diet is the main ingredients to control acne outbreak. Is chocolate and oily foods are the culprit? No one knows for sure.

One habit that is unquestionably important is cleanliness. Always keep your face clean. There are many cleansing products that is available over the counter. Find a mild cleanser that is suitable for all skin types.

Part of the acne problems could be due to the emotional stress and pressures during the early stages of puberty. Find the support groups that your boys could join in and contribute positively to the group.

Below are some helpful points and hints for parents as well as boys on how to manage the acne problems effectively.

1) For parents, give unconditional support to your boys. Having to go through the emotional difficulties it is very stressful for the boys to manage their problems. They need your full support and understanding.

4) It is advisable to wash your face at least twice a day using a mild skin cleansing products. Always use only gentle skin care cleanser.

5) Find skin care products that are labeled as non-comedogenic. These products normally will prevent clogging of the pores and prevent blemishes.

6) For chronic cases please consult a skin care specialist. It is in your best interest to get their advice rather than managing yourself. Skin care professionals will help you to deal with the problems and advice the right products.

7) In a worse case scenario you may need the dermatologist to write you a prescriptions. They can give you the best advice since they are the authority in skin care. They are equipped with the latest technology.

Your boys are going through a tough transitional period both emotionally and physically during puberty. In addition acne problem will make it even harder for them to manage. Give them unconditional emotional support and let them know that they can count on you.
